Formfiber Denmark APS is a nonwoven machinery business built around an internationally patented air forming technology that is branded SPIKETM AirCarding Technology.
Although SPIKETM AirCarding Technology is not functionally related to Standard Nonwoven Carding Technology, SPIKETM AirCarding Technology efficiently forms mat products utilizing fiber formulations from pulp dust to 3 inch (76mm) carding length synthetic staple and natural fibers. When forming long fiber blends, the SPIKETM AirCarding process has an efficient manufacturing rate of more than 500 Kg per Hour per Meter Width of SPIKETM AirCarding Forming Head.
The SPIKETM AirCarding forming process will produce products with basis weights of less than 50 gsm to heavy weight mats of more than 5,000 gsm, with either high of low finished mat densities when incorporating standard thru-air or dual belt thermal bond oven designs. Heavy weight mat products are formed with a unique combination of both air and mechanical forming in the SPIKETM AirCarding forming head design.
